As part of a large project the team at Cambs Glass supplied and installed this modern thermally isolated pyramid rooflight to a flat roof extension of a school refractory. The rooflight was designed by our in-house team to be stick built on site thus minimising the panel and bar size and allowing easy transportation to site from our location in Suffolk.
The rooflight was supplied in a structural glazing system where the glass units are structurally bonded to an internal aluminium framework, thus producing a flush silicone filled external surface. The glass panes are also black primed over the framework to create an aesthetic finish when viewed externally.
The framework was supplied in four number frames which were designed to transfer load to adjacent panel thus supporting each other, the frames are then fitted with bespoke brackets hidden in the obscured hip details.
Cambs Glass can supply rooflight of similar design and elongated with an additional ridge section added.
