Whilst working on a large domestic project in London, the team from Cambs Glass where approached by the clients architects to provide a LCD shower screen to one of the children’s bedroom.
Utilising ESG Switchable™ LCD Privacy Glass our design team set work creating a bespoke perimeter framework which was sunk into the surrounding finishes all to create a frameless appearance. The shower then utilises the Dorma Universal suite of glass patch fitting which included a PT10 top fitted PT20 bottom and a BTS 75 floor spring which provides a 90 degree hold open facility and variable speed closing. All Dorma hardware was supplied with stainless steel cover plates to match the perimeter framing, as with all high moisture environments the floor spring box was also resin filled to prevent water ingress and premature failure of the floor spring.
The team also had to work out the routing of the cables into the ceiling where the transformers can be fitted away from any pooling water.
Cambs Glass in-house installation team then attended site to complete the installation, whilst on site they worked closely with the project electrician to complete the installations of all electronics.
